HelmOS Module Architecture:


  • The Helm: The central administrative command center. It provides a unified dashboard for management visibility, centralizing data from all departments including HR for reporting, auditing, and detailed marina oversight.
  • The Pier: A digital logistics interface for dockage and membership management. It handles slip occupancy tracking, digital site mapping, and the administrative organization of short-term and long-term dockage agreements.
  • The Boathouse: A specialized scheduling and coordination tool for valet and storage operations. It allows staff to manage dry-stack logistics and document launch/haul requests to streamline daily movement.
  • The Engine Room: An administrative module for the service department. It facilitates the documentation of service requests, creation of digital work orders, and maintenance of historical service logs for customer vessels.
  • The Fuel Dock: A point-of-sale interface specifically for fuel transactions. It automates inventory record-keeping and provides a digital ledger for fuel sales and tank level documentation.
  • The Trader: A retail management and POS module for the ship store. It tracks general merchandise inventory and processes standard retail transactions.
  • The Galley: A dedicated hospitality POS system designed for on-site food and beverage operations, integrating restaurant sales data back into the central management system.
  • The Quartermaster (Coming Soon): An exclusive Dealer Management System (DMS) designed to track boat sales and inventory. It will report all sales and brokerage data directly back to The Helm for a complete financial picture.

The HelmOS Story: Built from the Water Up

I grew up on New England waters. For me, the marina has always been more than just a place to park a boat, it’s where some of the best parts of the season happen. But as my professional side grew in the FinTech industry, I started seeing the cracks marinas had to work with. I’ve spent my life on both sides of the screen, as a boater who just wants a stress-free day on the water, and working with operators trying to keep a hundred moving parts synchronized.


I saw the friction firsthand: the missed service requests, the fumbled paperwork, and the hardworking dock crews trying their best with tools that just weren't designed to talk to each other. I kept thinking, "There has to be a better way."


HelmOS wasn't born out of a desire to just "sell software." It was a consultative process that combined two of my biggest passions: the boating lifestyle and solving the operational puzzles. I didn't want to force a new system on people; I wanted to build a support system that understood the actual needs of the person on the dock and the person on the boat.
